The Madame Walker Theatre Center held its grand opening on December 26th, 1927. The Walker Building, located on the Indiana Avenue corridor, was the center of entertainment, business and pride for the city's African-American community from the 1920s to the 1950s.

Previews begin July 22 at 2 p.m. with the grand opening set for that same night at 8:30 p.m., following a red carpet honors and reception. But before the opening, Josiah Theatre works is offering a free sneak preview of the show today, June 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Operation Hope Center (Harlem Branch), located at 2511 W. 13th St, NYC. (corner of Fredrick Douglass Blvd and 134th).
