The New York Civil Liberties Union, the New York State affiliate of the ACLU, today announced a star-studded lineup of award-winning performers for Broadway Stands Up for Freedom, its annual benefit concert to be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place, NYC).

In response to an overwhelming demand following a victorious night at the Tony Awards which saw Hedwig and the Angry Inch winning four Tonys and a show-stopping performance by Tony winners Neil Patrick Harris and Lena Hall, Atlantic Records moved the release date of the show's Original Broadway Cast Recording to today, June 12.

In response to an overwhelming demand following a victorious night at the Tony Awards which saw Hedwig and the Angry Inch winning four Tonys and a show-stopping performance by Tony winners Neil Patrick Harris and Lena Hall, Atlantic Records has moved the release date of the show's Original Broadway Cast Recording to this Thursday, June 12.

The film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical JERSEY BOYS will hit theaters on June 20th. Directed by Clint Eastwood, JERSEY BOYS, written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, features the music and lyrics of Bob Gaudio & Bob Crewe. Just yesterday, the Angelo Galasso House at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue) hosted a special New York City screening of the new film, and BroadwayWorld was there for the big event. HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. 'Internationally ignored song stylist' Hedwig Robinson (Neil Patrick Harris) brings her fourth-wall-smashing rock 'n' roll saga to New York to set the record straight about her life, her loves and the botched operation that left her with that 'angry inch.' The text is by John Cameron Mitchell with music and lyrics by Stephen Trask.
