A CHRISTMAS STORY Comes To Westwego Performing Arts Theatre 12/3-19

This holiday season, Tennessee Repertory Theatre will once again present the holiday cult classic A Christmas Story adapted by Phillip Grecian and based on the motion picture by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown, and Bob Clark.

Georgia Shakespeare Concludes SEARCH FOR RALPHIE

Georgia Shakespeare announces that the city-wide competition The Search for Ralphie has come to a pitch-perfect conclusion. After four open calls across the city, semi-finals and finals rounds, 13-year-old Cooper Driskell has been selected to portray Ralphie on stage in this December's production of A Christmas Story. The competition also sought and found six other kids' roles: Ralphie's brother and his friends.

Georgia Shakespeare announces the regional premiere of A Christmas Story, directed by Drew Fracher, written by Philip Grecian, based on the motion picture "A Christmas Story"?(© 1983 Turner Entertainment Co., Distributed by Warner Bros.), written by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown and Rob Clark and based on the book In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash by Jean Shepherd. The cast is announced, following the final round of "The Search for Ralphie" on October 16.

Tennessee Rep Kicks off Season at The Standard 7/23

Tennessee Repertory Theatre will partner with The Standard restaurant and Nashville Scene for a special event to kick-off its 2010-11 season of live, professional theatre.

Tennessee Rep Announces 26th Season Productions

Christopher Sergel's stage adaptation of Harper Lee's classic Southern novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, will open Tennessee Repertory Theatre's 26th Season with an October 2-23 run at the Andrew Johnson Theatre at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. Other shows featured during the 2010-2011 season includes Steven Dietz's Yankee Tavern, the acclaimed stage adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps, and the toe-tapping musical favorite Pump Boys and Dinettes. Last season's holiday hit, A Christmas Story, will be revived as a season special and Tennessee Rep has three shows on tap for its popular REPaloud Series of staged readings.

The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, 4990 Glenway Avenue, continues to grow as the region's most exciting theatrical venue. The Covedale has been converted from a 1947 movie house to a live theatre, featuring the best in local performers and performances.
