Second Thought Theatre closes its 2017 season of change with the world premiere of The Necessities by Dallas-based playwright and artist Blake Hackler. Joel Ferrell, Associate Artistic Director for the Dallas Theater Center, returns to direct after previously directing Othello and Gruesome Playground Injuries for the company.
WaterTower Theatre Announces Casting and Creative Details for NATIVE GARDENS

WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz today announced casting and creative team details for the Regional Premiere of Karen Zacarias' Native Gardens, directed by David Lozano. Native Gardens will run June 2-25, 2017, in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. The cast features Stephanie Cleghorn Jasso as Tania Del Valle, Ivan Jasso as Pablo Del Valle, Lois Sonnier Hart as Virginia Butley, and John S. Davies as Frank Butley.

WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz today announced the appointment of David Lozano to direct Native Gardens by Karen Zacarias. Mr. Lozano, Executive Artistic Director of Dallas' Cara Mia Theatre Co., will be making his directorial debut at WTT with Native Gardens.

Dallas Theater Center Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty announced today full details for the 2017-2018 season, including the American love-rock musical Hair, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary; the terror-filled Frankenstein in a new collaboration with Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts; The Great Society, a follow-up to the smash-hit All the Way and a co-production with Houston's Alley Theatre; and two world-premiere plays, The Trials of Sam Houston and Miller, Mississippi.

Dallas Theater Center announced today $68,660 was presented to the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) following the run of DTC's production of A Christmas Carol. For nine consecutive years, DTC has partnered with NTFB to collect donations and canned goods during performances of A Christmas Carol.

Dallas Theater Center's Project Discovery Receives Theatre Forward Staging Success Contribution Supported by AT&T

Dallas Theater Center (DTC) is pleased to announce involvement in the Theatre Forward Staging Success Initiative supported by AT&T. DTC's nationally recognized educational program, Project Discovery, will be one of four programs across the country to be measured and evaluated as part of this initiative to study the impact of theatre education on school engagement and participation. The Staging Success study, benefiting almost entirely Title 1 students, spans a two-year time period, tracking participation, school engagement and students' beliefs and attitudes over time with exposure to 21st century skills.
