Paris Je t'dore! And Vive La France! French-flavored Broadway shows and songs are tres magnifique. The romantic 'City of Lights' and the lure of romance with a French accent has served as the inspiration for many musicals through the years. And since France and all of the world's Francophiles celebrated Bastille Day earlier this week, BroadwayWorld's Jeff Walker and Matt Tamanini are taking a look at the shows and tunes that make us go 'oo-la-la!'

Robert Fairchild and Leanne Cope, stars of The Tony Award-winning new Broadway musical An American in Paris, perform the song 'Liza' on 'LIVE with Kelly and Michael' today, July 17 at 9:00am ET on ABC. An American in Paris is now playing at the Palace Theatre (Broadway at 47th Street).

An American in Paris, which opened April 12, 205, at the Palace Theatre, just celebrated it's 100th performance. As if the night wasn't exciting enough, one lucky audience member was called up on stage to join the cast to receive a free trip to Paris, France. BROADWAY BARKS announces their 17th annual star-studded dog and cat adoption event to benefit New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Founded by Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore, this event features celebrities from the hottest shows on Broadway. The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will take place on Saturday, July 11 in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. where you meet all the adoptable dogs and cats; celebrity presentations of adoptable pets will take place between 5:00-6:30 p.m. This year's event will be co-hosted by Bernadette Peters and Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon, HBO's 'Girls'). The event is free and open to the public.
