ALLEGIANCE plays its final performance on Broadway today, February 14, 2016. Performances began at the Longacre Theatre on October 6, 2015, and the production officially opened on November 8, 2015. At the time of its closing, the musical will have played 37 previews and 113 regular performances, and will have been seen by approximately 120,000 people, a number that eerily echoes the number of Japanese Americans who were directly impacted by the events that inspired the show. Last night, two-time Tony nominee Andre De Shields stopped by the Longacre Theatre, his old stomping grounds, to see the Broadway production of Allegiance.

Serving as Honorary Co-Chairs for the event are musical theatre legends Sir Cameron Mackintosh and Patti LuPone.

ALLEGIANCE's Lea Salonga went to see Broadway's THE COLOR PURPLE last week, and the production seems to have left a lasting impression. So much so that Salonga expressed her hope of the show making it to Manila.

MCC THEATER announced today the all-star lineup of performers set for their annual Miscast gala, including: Emmy Award nominee Tituss Burgess; Tony Award winners Lea Salonga and Linda Lavin; Tony Award nominee Keala Settle; and stage and screen stars Ana Gasteyer, Aaron Tveit, Beth Behrs, Megan Hilty, Cynthia Erivo, Ana Villafañe, and Shanice Williams.

Sing Out, Louise! The original cast album of the new musical Allegiance, with music & lyrics by Jay Kuo, was recorded last month at MSR Studios and is available digitally today, January 29, 2016. 

Theatre Forward and UBS will host the 13th Annual Broadway Roundtable on Friday, January 29th at UBS (1285 Avenue of the Americas) from 12:00pm - 2:00pm.

Although ALLEGIANCE will end its run early on February 14th, the creators, including GEORGE TAKEI, hope that the musical will have a life following its Broadway run. 

FIGHT SONG, the first annual charity cabaret concert presented by BLOWN by bocaj, will be held on January 24, 2016 at 7:00 pm at the Uptown Underground lounge in Chicago, Ill.

Just yesterday, 'Star Trek' alum, social media icon and activist George Takei was joined by Tony® winner Lea Salonga and his Allegiance co-stars for a very special afternoon.
