THE AFTER PARTY Welcomes John Tartaglia & More 5/21

Drag star JACKIE BEAT brings the wildly popular Los Angeles production of her hit comedy WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BUSTY JANE? to New York. Directed by Drew Droege, performances of this limited engagement, inspired by the similarly titled 1962 Joan Crawford/Bette Davis film, begin May 19 at The Laurie Beechman Theatre.

Elliott Forrest of WQXR Radio will emcee the Arts & Buisness Council of New York's 45th annual Encore Awards on May 25. The ceremony will be held at TheTimesCenter beginning at 5pm. Begin honored that night will be WNYC & WQXR, Free Arts NYC & Deutsche Bank, New York Musical Theatre Festial (NYMF) & TheatreMania and Marianne C. Lockwood, the President of the Orchestra of St. Luke's.

On Monday, May 10 and May 17, Broadway performer, Niki Scalera will perform at The Laurie Beechman Theatre in the West Bank Cafe at 7 pm. Niki will be celebrating the life and career of Dame Shirley Bassey. Best known in the states for singing the James Bond theme song 'Goldfinger', Shirley Bassey's career has spanned the decades, making her the most successful female British recording artist of all time. Ms. Scalera takes you on a biopic ride throughout Shirley's career and truly answers the question, 'What makes a dame?'

Tyler Phillips Music and Ashley Monroe, in association with Kamelrock Productions and Elysia Segal will present Short ‘N Sweet, a 20-minute play and musical event, at the Laurie Beechman Theater on May 24, 2010 at 9:30pm. The event will feature cabaret style presentations of four new short theatrical pieces.

Tonight Friday, May 14th THE AFTER PARTY is thrilled to welcome the cast of KILLING WOMEN including performances by LISA BRESCIA, AUTUMN HURLBERT, ADAM KANTOR. The night is hosted by BRANDON CUTRELL with Imaginocean's WILLIAM WADE at the piano.

Legendary comedian JOAN RIVERS continues to make The Laurie Beechman Theatre in Times Square her performance home in New York City. Rivers presents an evening of her newest and most outrageous riffs on Hollywood, pop culture, celebrities, and award show fashions at The Laurie Beechman Theatre inside the West Bank Cafe (407 West 42nd Street at Ninth Avenue).

As a cabaret artist, Anne has made a name for herself on both coasts, including Upright Cabaret, Ryan Black's 88s Cabaret, Musical Mondays at Eleven, and Caffeinated Cabaret in Los Angeles; and Birdland, Joe's Pub, Metropolitan Room, Laurie Beechman, Duplex, Splash Bar, Bartini, Therapy, G-Lounge in New York. She recently made both her Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center debuts, singing the works of emerging composers.

BLOODSONG OF LOVE, which was commissioned and developed by Ars Nova, began previews on April 1st prior to an official press opening of April 15th at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues) in Manhattan.

The music & lyrics of Bobby Cronin in Los Angeles is a one-night only all new concert of ASCAP winning composer/writer Bobby Cronin's music. On Thursday May 27th at Barre on Vermont, the concert will feature songs written for Bobby's numerous projects in the works; THE BEATEN PATH, TIL DEATH DO US PART, CATY BRIDGEWATER, The Untitled Project, and (UN)LUCKY IN LOVE. The concert will feature Cronin on the piano for a night of rockin' uptempos, passionate ballads, comedic tunes, and honest anthems.

If It Only Even Runs A Minute 2 is the second edition of an evening of rare and inspiring songs, anecdotes, and photos from Broadway musicals that may not have been fully- appreciated the first time around. This is an essential concert for musical theatre nerds!
