The 2017 awards honor productions which opened between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017. Nominations were completely reader-submitted and after the nomination period ended October 31, BroadwayWorld's local editors proofed the list for eligibility and errors.

QUANAH is a new musical written by and starring Grammy Award-winning country music legend Larry Gatlin.

Quanah, the Parker Family Saga, is a new musical written by Grammy Award-winning country music legend Larry Gatlin. It is the story of Quanah Parker, the last Comanche chief, his mother Cynthia Ann Parker and the Parker Family settling in Texas and the survival and ascendancy of the great Comanche people.  It is, in part, a tragic, sad, heartbreaking story-a story of war, bloodshed, death and heartbreak-but it is, more importantly, a story celebrating the strength and power of the human spirit. Gatlin's wife Janis-who says he is never wrong-believes that it is the best music he has ever written.

THE TUMBLEWEED ROUNDUP opens at Artisan Center Theater on Saturday, February 4, 2017 and runs through Saturday, April 8, 2017. The 150 seat Second Stage theater is located at 444 East Pipeline Road in Hurst. Performances are at 7:00pm on Saturdays.
