On the heels of its record-breaking 2012 Summer Season, Williamstown Theatre Festival payed tribute to Abe Burrows, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning author and director, at its 2012 Benefit, lats night, November 18 at the Edison Ballroom. The evening featured performances by recent Williamstown Theatre Festival alumni David Hyde Pierce (director of last season's The Importance of Being Earnest), Steven Pasquale and Kelli O'Hara (WTF's Far From Heaven), Greg Naughton, Malcolm Gets (WTF's Ten Cents a Dance) and more. The Skivvies Perform at Theatre C's CELEBRATION OF C Tonight, 11/11

Theatre C has announced The Skivvies as their Special Guests for their 3-year anniversary of the CELEBRATION OF C tonight, November 11th at 6:30 - 8:30 pm! The event will take place at The Cutting Room located at 44 East 32nd Street.

THE SKIVVIES bring their unique blend of stripped-down, amped-up pop to The Cutting Room on Monday, November 19 at 7:30 PM. THE SKIVVIES are Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, award-winning NYC singer/actor/musicians doing stripped down versions of eclectic covers and eccentric originals. Not only are the arrangements stripped down-cello, ukulele, glockenspiel, melodica-but the Skivvies and their special guests 'from Broadway and beyond' literally strip down to their underwear to perform. Tickets are $18 and may be purchased at www.SpinCycleNYC.com, or by calling 212-352-3101. The Cutting Room is located at 44 East 32nd Street, just off of Park Avenue (directly off the 6 train at 33rd Street).

The Skivvies are having a release party for their debut single, 'Hardbody Hoedown,' a bluegrass-tinged parody mega-medley of hip-hop songs about body parts. This will take place at the newly re-launched Cutting Room (44 E. 32nd St.) on Monday, October 29 at 7:30.

Review - Marry Me A Little: The Girl Upstairs

In musical theatre, it's not enough to write a good song.  You have to write the right song.  Character, plot, placement and various intangibles all go into making music, lyrics and performance all effectively fit into a moment and contribute to the piece as a whole.
