The stars were out for Sarasota and fans of Bonnie & Clyde who filled Asolo Rep's Mertz Theatre Tuesday night to attend- An Intimate Evening with Frank Wildhorn & Friends. The starry concert featured musical theatre legend and Bonnie & Clyde composer Frank Wildhorn, and starred Rob Evan and Laura Osnes, with Marlyn Sanchez, and Jack Murphy; who performed songs from Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Wonderland, Bonnie & Clyde and more. Bassist Gregg Voorhees accompanied.

Asolo Repertory Theatre today announced further details and pricing for special concert, An Intimate Evening with Frank Wildhorn & Friends. On December 3rd, Scott Alan will be joined by some of the performers featured on 'What I Wanna Be When I Grow Up,' for a concert at Barnes and Nobles at Lincoln Triangle. Those scheduled to appear include Christiane Noll, Darius de Haas, Nikki Renee Daniels, Zak Resnick and Christopher Sieber, along with musical director Jesse Vargas. Asolo Repertory Theatre's production of Bonnie & Clyde opened on November 19. Jay Handelman reports in today's Herald-Tribune that the show is heading next to Broadway in August of 2011. The article reports that: 'We're planning to go to Broadway in August. We're going to Broadway, absolutely,' said Jerry Frankel, a veteran Broadway producer who is partnered with Jeffrey Richards. They are represented on Broadway by 'Bloody Blood Andrew Jackson,' 'The Merchant of Venice' with Al Pacino and 'A Life in the Theatre.'

In a year chock full of star-studded 80th birthday tributes to legendary Broadway composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, the March 15-16 gala evenings with the New York Philharmonic at New York's Lincoln Center stood tall.
