Olivier Award winner Laura Michelle Kelly, The West End's original MARY POPPINS, returns to the Broadway company on Tuesday, July 19 (8pm) at the New Amsterdam Theatre. She re-joins Tony Award nominee Gavin Lee, who originated the role of Bert in the West End and on Broadway.

Ashley Brown, Broadway's original MARY POPPINS, returned to the company yesterday, March 8, at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Brown assumes the title role through Sunday, July 17 (Laura Michelle Kelly, currently playing the role, will take a brief hiatus for a film project, returning to the show on Tuesday, July 19). The best of Broadway was presented free on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 Lite fm Presents Broadway in Bryant Park 2010' - a lunchtime series which began on Thursday, July 8th at 12:30pm on the Bryant Park Stage and ended yesterday, August 12. Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's MARY POPPINS makes its much-anticipated premiere Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Circus Theatre in Scheveningen, Holland, outside of Amsterdam. This marks the fifth major production of the title since it opened in London in 2004. Only three months after the Dutch opening, a sixth production opens in Melbourne, Australia in July 2010.

Baz Bamigboye reports in the U.K. Daily Mail today that a stage musical adapation of the movie Ghost may hit Manchester sometime next spring in anticipation of a West End transfer in the summer of 2011, likely at the Piccadilly Theatre. Bamigboye writes that high on the list of Manchester venues for the out of town tryout is the Opera House of Manchester, where the show would would play for an extended 10 week-or-so run. So far, producers are reportedly only in discussion-phase. Laura Michelle Kelly is rumored to be in talks to play the female lead made famous by Demi Moore in the film version.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have front row seats for 'America Celebrates July 4th at Fords Theatre,' one of the summer's most patriotic parties, celebrating Independence Day. The event was taped June 6, 2010 at the Ford's Theatre Society annual gala in Washington, D.C. and airs on the ABC Television Network, Saturday, July 2 (9:00 p.m. EDT). President Barack Obama makes his customary remarks at Ford's Theatre.

Ty Burrell, star of ABC's comedy hit 'Modern Family,' hosts 'America Celebrates July 4th at Ford's Theatre,' airing FRIDAY, JULY 2 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. The program is taped at Ford's Theatre Society's annual gala taking place June 6 in Washington, DC. The celebrities joining Ty Burrell for the special include Kelly Clarkson, Dick Van Dyke, Renee Fleming, George Lopez, Lionel Richie and Robin Roberts. Additional performers include Laura Michelle Kelly and Gavin Lee from the Broadway company of 'Mary Poppins,' as well as The Soldiers' Chorus of the United States Army Field Band.
