The full cast for the Harold Prince-directed production of EVITA in South Africa has been announced. Presented by Pieter Toerien and David Ian, this revival of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical will see the original West End and Broadway production presented on stage at The Teatro at Montecasino and the Artscape Opera House later this year.
Opera Australia Artistic Director Lyndon Terracini, Australian theatre producer John Frost and leading UK theatre producer David Ian today announced that Australian icon, singer, songwriter and musical theatre star Tina Arena will play the role of Eva Peron in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's EVITA.
In addition to the previously announced run of EVITA in Australia, the production has also announced plans for an international tour. Director Hal Prince has also confirmed that he aims to bring the show to Broadway following its run abroad.
