CBS announced today that 60 MINUTES will not be broadcast on Sunday Feb. 3 due to Super Bowl XLVII coverage this weekend.

60 MINUTES will be preempted this Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 by CBS Sports' coverage of the American Football Conference Championship game between the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots.

60 MINUTES is on Nielsen's Top 10 List again, making it for the fourth consecutive broadcast. It was also the eighth time over 13 broadcasts this season that 60 MINUTES finished among America's 10 most-watched programs. Sunday's edition drew 10.3 million viewers to land at #7 for the week.

The first edition of 60 MINUTES SPORTS will feature a rare interview with Lionel Messi, the record-breaking soccer player considered by many to be the best of all time. Bob Simon went to Spain to talk to Messi, an Argentine who plays for FC Barcelona, to interview the man who just broke the 40-year-old record for scoring the most goals in a calendar year. Messi is only 25 years old. The profile will be featured on the series premiere of 60 MINUTES SPORTS, a new magazine program from the makers of the iconic CBS News series 60 MINUTES, the originator of the television genre. The monthly, one-hour 60 MINUTES SPORTS premieres on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT on SHOWTIME and represents the first time original 60 MINUTES content will air on premium television.

America's top commander in Afghanistan says he's willing to sacrifice all for the military campaign he leads there, but the recent insider attacks on his men by the Afghans who fight beside them is a maddening trend of murder he intends to stop.
