Moscow 57, the new Russian Central Asian restaurant at 168½ Delancey Street in Manhattan, agrees and is honoring the African-American experience in Russia and the former Soviet Union by celebrating two unique and little-known chapters of Black history in the 20th Century.

Urban Stages Founding Artistic Director Frances Hill and producer Peter Napolitano present the World Premiere of Character Man as part of its 30th Anniversary season. Jim Brochu's new musical memoir begins an Off-Broadway run at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street) tonight, February 28th, with opening night set for Wednesday March 5th. This limited run will continue through March 30th only. Robert Bartley directs, with musical direction by Carl Haan. Character Man will have scenic & video design by Patrick Brennan, lighting design by Meghan Santelli and sound design by Sean Hagerty.

The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. opens the 47th season of inspirational, innovative and exciting stage productions with a special Valentine's Day concert' starring the dynamic, award-winning singer/actress Lillias White in two performances of 'A Woman On Love' on Friday, February 14, 2014. Ms. White will grace the stage of the Langston Hughes Auditorium at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, 515 Malcolm X Boulevard, New York, NY 10037-1801 with shows at 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm. There will be a VIP Reception immediately following the second concert.

Original cast member and Grammy Award winner Fantasia plays her final performance as the 'Special Guest Star' in Broadway's AFTER MIDNIGHT today, Feb. 9, at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. She will be succeeded by singer k.d. lang on Feb. 11, who will remain with the production through March 9

Multi-Platinum superstars Toni Braxton and Kenny 'Babyface' Edmonds are the latest Grammy Award-winning artists set to join the roster of 'Special Guest Star' vocalists in the new Broadway musical After Midnight- currently playing at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. With an impressive 16 Grammy Awards between them, Braxton and Edwards will join the company following k.d. lang, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 through Sunday, March 30, 2014. The Hartt School opens 2014 with an exciting new initiative to share the incredible work of its students and faculty more broadly. Each semester, a schedule of live streaming events will be announced, allowing those near and far to plan ahead to experience some of the 400 performances The Hartt School offers each year. Hartt is already the largest producer of high quality performing arts in Connecticut, and with this initiative, will be sharing that quality with more people through the Internet.

'GOOD MORNING AMERICA' by Maxx Moses is set to open on Thursday, January 30 in Southwestern College in the main Chula Vista campus, with a special closing party on Saturday February 22, 2014 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
