The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training proudly kicks off its 2016-17 season with Pultizer Prize-winner Lanford Wilson's gripping drama BOOK OF DAYS. The American Theatre Critics Association Best Play winner will be directed by FSU/Asolo Conservatory Director Greg Leaming. Featuring the entire second-year Conservatory class, the production previews on Today, November 1, with a special 'Pay What You Can Performance', officially opens Wednesday, November 2, and runs throughSunday, November 20 in the Cook Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

The Signature Theatre production of "Master Harold" ... and the boys, written and directed by Tony Award winner Athol Fugard, has been extended by one week.

Marin Theatre Company decks the halls-and stage-this holiday season with Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley,by Playwright in Residence Lauren Gunderson, and  MTC's former Director of New Play Development Margot Melcon. This light-hearted continuance of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice picks up two years after the end of Austen's tale, with the focus this time on middle sister Mary Bennet, now a talented and confident young woman who comes into her own with curiosity and wit while visiting the Darcy household at Pemberley for the winter holiday. 

Signature Theatre will host several special events this fall at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues), the company announced today.

Just last night, New York City Center presented Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Sunday in the Park with George, which will run through October 26. 

Signature Theatre's production of The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World, by Pulitzer Prize-winner Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, begins tonight, October 25, and runs through December 4, 2016 with a Sunday, November 13 opening night in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). 

Artistic Director Davis McCallum and Managing Director Kate Liberman of Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) have announced an innovative slate of productions - including two new plays - for the Festival's 2017 summer season, running in repertory June 8 through September 4.

Evans, presents the World Premiere of Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley. Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, written by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon and directed by Jessica Thebus, runs November 10 - December 18, 2016 at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie. The press opening is scheduled for Friday, November 18 at 8 pm.

Eclipse Theatre Company announces its Eighth Annual Corona Award, to be presented to Joseph Drummond, Goodman Theatre Production Stage Manager. The Corona Award honors an individual who has played an important role in supporting and nurturing the growth of the Chicago theater community as well as small- to medium-sized ensembles such as Eclipse Theatre. The Corona Award derives its name from the Latin word, meaning crown, as well as outer atmosphere of the sun most easily seen during a total eclipse.

What if true love never happens? Or worse… what if it does? Theatre Planners presents the world premiere of an award-winning comedy by Sharon Sharth. Waiting for Grace opens as a guest production at the Odyssey Theatre on November 12, directed by Lee Costello.

Caffe Cino, which was founded in 1958, is noted as the site that gave birth to off-off Broadway theatre. It was the invention of retired dancer Joe Cino, who offered a place to do inexpensive creative works in New York City and not have to conform to Equity rules. Cino bankrolled the adventure. The shows were staged on a make-shift small platform.

Tickets are now available for Forward Flux's productions of THE WEDDING GIFT by Chisa Hutchinson (West Coast premiere), and THE SUMMER HOUSE by Sarah Bernstein (World premiere), playing September 20th - October 8th at Gay City Arts (517 E Pike St, Seattle, WA 98122). For the second year in a row, Forward Flux will present two new plays in the same theatre, allowing audiences to choose one, or see both in one night with show times at 7pm and 9pm. Each play runs around 75mins with no intermission (as it should be).

Following hard on the heels of the opening of their critically acclaimed co-production of The Bakelite Masterpiece, WAM Theatre's Artistic Director, Kristen van Ginhoven has announced plans for the first event of the company's eighth season in 2017. A special event - a limited run remount of WAM's very successful 2013 production of Emilie: La Marquise Du Chatelet Defends Her Life Tonight, written by Lauren Gunderson and directed by van Ginhoven, will run from March 30-April 9, 2017, and be presented at Shakespeare & Company's Tina Packer Playhouse in Lenox.
