The Color Purple will return to Houston and play a limited one week engagement at the Hobby Center for Performing Arts, August 18 - 23, 2009. The return engagement was booked in response to the challenges brought on by Hurricane Ike, which caused the cancellation of a full week of sold out performances.

LaToya London, star of the Broadway smash hit The Color Purple and former American Idol contestant is set to sing the national athem prior to the start of the Detroit Tigers game versus the Chicago White Sox. The game will take place on Wednesday, April 15th at 1:00 pm at Comerica Park (2100 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201).
