Leddy Center for the Performing Arts will present the musical, "Anne of Green Gables" from October 25 through November 13, at Leddy Center on Ladd's Lane in Epping, NH. Performances are Fridays at 7:30pm and Saturdays, Sundays, and one Wednesday at 2:00pm.

As it was first published as a novel by L.M. Montgomery in 1908, "Anne of Green Gables" has long established its place of the shelf of classic literature. Even Mark Twain fell in love with the fiery lead character of 11 year old Anne Shirley, calling her, "the dearest and most lovable child in fiction since the immortal Alice". Shots in the Dark Independent Theatre Company opened its ambitious production of the musical version at the Columbus Performing Arts Center (CPAC)'s Van Fleet Theater for a two week run last evening.

Rainbow Valley, a musical adaptation of the seventh book in L. M. Montgomery's beloved 'Anne of Green Gables' series, will have a staged reading of Act One on May 19 at 6:30pm as part of Emerging Artists Theatre's 7th Annual New Works Series.

The Boise Little Theater will hold auditions for their Youth Summer Production of Anne of Green Gables on May 21, 2011. 12 male and 19 female roles are available for actors 12-18 years of age. Performances run July 21-30, 2011.
