The Des Moines Community Playhouse's Kate Goldman Children's Theatre presents "Anne of Green Gables," Sept. 30-Oct. 16, 2011. Brother and sister Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert live at Green Gables farm. When they decide to adopt an orphan to help on The Farm, they expect a boy. Instead, they get a freckled, red-haired girl named Anne Shirley. All the tragedies and triumphs that mark Anne's growth from adolescence to early adulthood are here: her friendship with Diana and their escapade with the mistaken wine bottle, her feuds with Gilbert, her adoration of Matthew, the cake disaster, the broken leg, and the saving of Green Gables."Anne of Green Gables" is based on the beloved book by L.M. Montgomery. The Playhouse cast of 22 features Abigail Feldman as Anne Shirley, Cate Miller as Marilla Cuthbert, and Paul Miller as Matthew Cuthbert. The show is directed by Kathy Pingel.Videos
