Sky Pony, Indie-Popstars Perform a Halloween Concert, 10/30

On Sunday October 30, Brooklyn band Sky-Ponywill present a Halloween extravaganza at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2. Expect costumes, surprises, and a healthy dose of their lush and theatrical indie-pop. Led by Tony nominee Lauren Worsham(Gentleman's Guide to Love and Mirder) and her husband, Obie winning songwriter Kyle Jarrow,Sky-Pony has been called 'a beautiful mash-up of music, choreography, costumes, projections and drama' by The Village Voice and 'tight, fierce, hilarious and out of their minds' by The Wall Street Journal. They've built a cult following for their high-energy live shows.

Greenway Arts Alliance Presents George Orwell's 1984

"War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery and Ignorance is Strength."  Greenway Arts Alliance Presents: George Orwell's 1984, directed by Kate Jopson as the first production of their novel to stage program Greenway Reads. 300 Fairfax High School students are reading the novel and will attend matinee's of the theatrical production. The adaptation by Alan Lyddiard creates an interactive and engaging experience for audience members. Jopson said, "We're trying to create an immersive experience. The elements of the play and its themes are all around us in the real world. We try to emphasize that and as soon as you arrive at the theater there's not anywhere you're not in the set of 1984, even in the lobby and bathrooms."  

NYFOS Next Moves to National Sawdust, Opens with Gabriela Lena Frank

A new season of NYFOS Next opens Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. at National Sawdust with GABRIELA LENA FRANK. Frank curates and hosts an hour-long evening of her vocal works and those of her friends and colleagues Avner Dorman and Derek Bermel.

Today Keen Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein announced that tickets for the first performance of Jonathan Larson's Tick, Tick…BOOM!  on Tuesday October 4th will be only $19.90 for all seats in honor of the year Tick, Tick…BOOM! was first workshopped Off-Off-Broadway (September 1990), as well as the year the musical takes place.

Breaking News: Duncan Sheik Will Write EDM Musical Series PULSE; Production Begins Today!

New Form Digital announced today the start of production and casting for the original musical series PULSE. Actress and Canadian native Katie Findlay (How to Get Away with Murder, The Killing) has been cast as Hannah Cooper, the main character in the series.
