Kansas City Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Eric Rosen today announced changes to its artistic staff for its 50th Anniversary Season.
Associate Artistic Director Kyle Hatley, who is planning to return to Chicago over the coming year, will become Resident Director. As previously announced, his duties will include performing in An Iliad and developing and directing the world premiere of Nathan Jackson's Sticky Traps; in addition, he will support the annual production of A Christmas Carol, now directed by Jerry Genochio. Eric Rosen will direct The Santaland Diaries.

The world premiere Master of the Universe opened Friday night June 13 at the Living Room Theatre in Kansas City. The science fiction retelling of Georg Buchner's Woyzeck was written and directed by Kyle Hatley. Sean Hogge scored and supervised the music and the epilogue was written by Charles Fugate and edited by Hatley.

From Kansas City Rep's new Playwright-in-Residence Nathan Louis Jackson (Broke-ology), comes a stunning, thought-provoking story about the power one action can have over a life and the unique precipice from which meaning and redemption can be attained. Damon Robinson, a death-row inmate, struggles to find faith and understanding about why his life has been spared after he survives a lethal injection. Befriending the prison's chaplain he sets about using his unexpected time on earth in search of answers. Appropriate for ages 13 & up.
