The Toronto International Film Festival® today revealed the hundreds of special guests and talent that will attend the Festival this September.

Gary Oldman stars  as Winston Churchill in the upcoming biopic DARKEST HOUR. The cast also features Kristin Scott Thomas, Lily James, Stephen Dillane, Ronald Pickup, and Ben Mendelsohn. Focus Features will release the drama in select cities on November 22, 2017.

Headlong and the Guardian are pleased to announce the launch of BREXIT SHORTS: DRAMAS FROM A DIVIDED NATION, a series of nine short films from leading writers - including David Hare, Abi Morgan, Maxine Peake and Meera Syal - responding to the Brexit vote.

Strawdog Theatre Company is proud to announce the third and final production in its 2016 - 2017 season, Rebecca Lenkiewicz's The Night Season, May 12  - June 24, directed by Elly Green, at The Factory Theater, 1623 W. Howard. The performance schedule is Thursdays - Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. Previews are May 12 - 13, 18 - 19 at 8 p.m., May 14 and 21 at 4 p.m. The press opening is Monday, May 22 at 8 p.m. with a Board Night Saturday, May 20 at 8 p.m. with an open bar and appetizers. All performances have ground level access and are wheelchair accessible, with a special Access Project performance Sunday, June 4 at 4 p.m. with a touch tour at 2:45 p.m.* An industry performance is on Monday, June 5 at 8 p.m for $18. Following the successful screenings of Measure for Measure and Ubu Roi, Cheek by Jowl today announce the screening of their latest production of The Winter's Tale live from the Barbican Centre on 19 April at 7.30pm. The production is currently on an international tour ahead of performances at the Barbican, where it opens on 6 April, with previews from 5 April, and runs until 22 April.

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced today that it will honor Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams with the Cinema Vanguard Award on Sunday, February 5, 2017.

It is announced today that the Tony Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated actor Sophie Okonedo will join Damian Lewis in a new production of Edward Albee's The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?  Directed by Ian Rickson, the production will play a strictly limited 12 week season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 24th March to 24th June 2017.

Producers Bob Israel and Larry Hirschhorn announced today that Garry Marshall's iconic movie THE FLAMINGO KID is being developed as a musical, with sights set on a Spring, 2018 Broadway opening. 

Declan Donnellan will be awarded the Golden Lion of Venice. The board of La Biennale di Venezia will give the co-artistic director of Cheek by Jowl the award for lifetime achievement. The ceremony takes place on 29 July at this year's Biennale festival.

Curtain Call: A Year Backstage in London Theatre is the first in a series of photography books by photographer Matt Humphrey and actor/director John Schwab featuring an extraordinary collection of fly-on-the-wall backstage photography from London theatre productions in 2015/16. Tony winning director Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening, American Idiot and Hedwig And The Angry Inch) has lined up an all-star cast for his upcoming film adaptation of Chekhov's THE SEAGULL.

Stephen Daldry's hit production of Peter Morgan's The Audience will complete its run at the Apollo Theatre on 25 July 2015 as previously announced.  The production, starringKristin Scott Thomas as The Queen, opened in May to critical acclaim. The Audience - a play about the weekly meeting between the Queen and her Prime Ministers - has designs by Bob Crowley, with lighting by Rick Fisher, sound by Paul Arditti and music by Paul Englishby.
