The OBIE-winning HERE is thrilled to announce its annual CULTUREMART festival line-up. Running January 7 - 23, CULTUREMART makes process the focus, as the festival presents work in development from the exciting roster of the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP). This year's CULTUREMART slate features twelve multidisciplinary works that push the boundaries of dance, theater, music, new media, puppetry and visual art resulting in adventurous new forms. CULTUREMART 2011 takes place in both of HERE's theaters, the Mainstage and the Dorothy B. Williams Theater.

In NEXT, a mobile whorehouse is brought to an American army encampment in Europe during WWII. It's presence brings to the surface issues of racism, sexuality, and the fear of impending death. Currently seeking the following male roles to begin rehearsal in January.

This marionette play in miniature is created and directed by Erik Sanko and Jessica Grindstaff, and features original music by Danny Elfman and Erik Sanko and narration by Gavin Friday. Set to play October 28 - December 4 at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue), this production will have its Official Opening on Sunday, October 31st (Halloween) at 9:00 PM.

In 'SWEET, SWEET MOTHERHOOD' Shelley McCann (Caroline Cooney) is a bitingly intelligent undergraduate student at a top university. Although Shelley covets a spot in a top graduate program, she would rather party than build up a respectable GPA.

The world premiere production of 'SWEET, SWEET MOTHERHOOD,' by Jeremy Kareken, in collaboration with Professor Lee M. Silver, a comedy with scientific issues and moral dilemmas, will begin previews on Thursday, July 8, at HERE (www.here.org ), 145 Sixth Avenue (enter on Dominick Street, one block south of Spring Street).

Written and performed by Miranda Huba, Candy Tastes Nice follows the story of a young girl determined to auction off her virginity. What starts off as a simple bid to re-pay student loans turns into a mass media frenzy, and soon countries are bidding against each other in order to obtain the girl's elusive innocence.
