The New York Pops Presents John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey, 12/16 & 17

The New York Pops orchestra, under the baton of Music Director Steven Reineke, celebrates the holidays with swinging seasonal favorites on December 16 and 17, 2011 at 8:00pm. Reineke has been heralded by The New York Times as 'young and vigorous, with a playful attitude that has been a pops orchestral tradition since the heyday of Arthur Fiedler...a polished, welcoming host.' John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey, the couple The New York Times called 'a musical match made in heaven,' will perform with the orchestra in a program featuring festive holiday tunes such as 'We Need a Little Christmas', 'It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year', 'Go Tell It On the Mountain', 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy', 'I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm' and 'Little Bolero Boy'. Essential Voices USA, conducted by Judith Cluman, will also join The New York Pops in the festive concert at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.

Broadway is certainly full of them: those amazing performers dubbed as 'triple threats'--those singer/dancer/actor-types that are just brimming with an abundance of extraordinary talent. David Elder rightly belongs in this revered group, and has proven the label quite a lot over the years, working steadily on the stage with an envious consistency. For the holiday season, he's bringing his knack for entertaining audiences as one of the leads in the touring stage version of Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS, playing at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through January 1, 2012. Before arriving in Orange County where he'll spend the remainder of the holidays, Elder chatted with BroadwayWorld's Michael Lawrence Quintos about his early interests, his fulfilling career in musical theater, and his tap-happy foray into Danny Kaye's shoes.

According to published reports, GLEE will continue the tradition of dedicating episodes to individual artisits in 2012, having previously tributed Britney Spears, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Fleetwood Mac. This time, Michael Jackson will get the GLEE treatment in an episode that will air on January 24.

Multi-platinum recording artist Trace Adkins reprised his role alongside Emmy and Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth as hosts of the second annual AMERICAN COUNTRY AWARDS, airing live from Las Vegas yesterday, Dec. 5 on FOX.
