ISAAC'S EYE, DOUBT: A PARABLE and More Highlight Writers Theatre's 2014-15 Season

Writers Theatre Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma announce the 2014/15 Season, to include Isaac's Eye by Lucas Hnath, directed by Michael Halberstam; The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman, directed by Kimberly Senior; and Doubt: A Parable by John Patrick Shanley, directed by William Brown.

TimeLine Theatre Company, acclaimed for presenting plays inspired by history that connect to today's social and political issues, announces its 2014-15 season, featuring all Chicago premieres, one slot dedicated to two plays presented on alternating nights, and the TimeLine debut of legendary Chicago actor Mike Nussbaum. TimeLine Theatre's upcoming 2014-15 season includes:

SMOKEFALL, TWO TRAINS RUNNING and More Set for Goodman Theatre's 2014-15 Season

Chicago's most established resident theater presents a 90th anniversary "season to celebrate," a line-up of new and contemporary works on its two stages-the 856-seat Albert Theatre and 400-seat flexible Owen Theatre. Today, Artistic Director Robert Falls and Executive Director Roche Schulfer announced six plays (of eight)-half of which were developed by commission and/or workshop in the Goodman's new play development programs-that comprise the 2014/2015 Season, plus co-productions with Chicago's off-Loop theaters. Remarked Falls, "We are proud to present this Season in the same spirit that launched the Goodman in 1925: 'an array of dramatic fare, from classics to noteworthy contemporary works, innovative and oft controversial, embracing genres from farces to searing social dramas.' We hope to give our audiences compelling, relevant experiences from a range of culturally and aesthetically diverse artists, from bold new talents to acclaimed local and national voices." Lin-Manuel Miranda's FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME Set for LCT3, 3/21-22

Lincoln Center Theater presents an LCT3 Special Event - Freestyle Love Supreme, the popular live, improvised show featuring Lin-Manuel Miranda, writer and star of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical IN THE HEIGHTS. Freestyle Love Supreme will play 4 performances only, March 21 and 22 at 7pm and 9pm, at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Next Theatre Company to Present THE GREAT GOD PAN, 4/3-5/11

Next Theatre Company announces the Midwest premiere of The Great God Pan, April 3 - May 11, by Amy Herzog and directed by Next Artistic Associate Kimberly Senior, at Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes Street. Previews are Thursday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 4 at 8 p.m., Saturday, April 5 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m. Opening Night is Monday, April 7 at 7 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There are Saturday 4 p.m. performances April 19, 26, May 3 and May 10th. La Jolla Playhouse Receives Grants in Support of Ayad Akhtar's THE WHO & THE WHAT

La Jolla Playhouse is the recipient of three prestigious and highly-competitive grants to support its world-premiere production of The Who & The What, by 2013 Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar, directed by Kimberly Senior, running February 11 - March 9 in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre. The grants include the Edgerton Foundation New American Plays Award, as well awards from The Laurents/Hatcher Foundation and The Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation Theatre Visions Fund.

Jan Maxwell, John Aylward, Barbara Garrick & More to Star in Anthony Giardina's THE CITY OF CONVERSATION at Lincoln Center Theater

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that John Aylward, Kristen Bush, Beth Dixon, Barbara Garrick, Jan Maxwell, Luke Niehaus, Kevin O'Rourke and Michael Simpson will be featured in its upcoming production of THE CITY OF CONVERSATION, a new play by Anthony Giardina, directed by Doug Hughes. THE CITY OF CONVERSATION begins previews Thursday, April 10 and opens on Monday, May 5 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). Additional casting for THE CITY OF CONVERSATION will be announced at a later date.

Writers Theatre Extends HEDDA GABLER Through 4/6

Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kate Lipuma announce a three-week extension of Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen, translated by Nicholas Rudall and directed by Kimberly Senior. The production, which was originally scheduled to run through March 16, 2014, has been extended through April 6, 2014, at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe.

Haven Theatre Company to Present SEMINAR, 3/3-4/13

Haven Theatre Company presents the third show in their inaugural season, the Chicago premiere of Seminar, a provocative comedy written by Pulitzer Prize nominee Theresa Rebeck and directed by Marti Lyons, Monday, March 3 - Sunday, April 13 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. Preview performances are Feb, 27, 28, March 1 and 2 at 8 p.m. and are $20. Lincoln Center Theater has announced that Bill Army, Will Brill, Laurel Casillo, Chuck Cooper, Steven Kaplan, Will LeBow, Mimi Lieber, Charlotte Maier, Andrea Martin, Deborah Offner, Matthew Saldivar, Matthew Schechter, Bob Stillman and Amy Warren will join Santino Fontana and Tony Shalhoub in the cast of its upcoming production of ACT ONE, a play written and directed by James Lapine from the autobiography by Moss Hart. The production is scheduled to begin previews Thursday, March 20 and open on Thursday, April 17 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Court Theatre's Charles Newell Wins SDC Foundation's 2013 Zelda Fichandler Award; Ceremony Set for Today

Charles Newell, Artistic Director of Court Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, is the 2013 recipient of The Zelda Fichandler Award, an award to recognize an outstanding director or choreographer who is transforming the regional arts landscape through imaginative, brave work in theatre. The $5,000 award, given by Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, heralds both accomplishment to date and promise for the future, and lauds deep commitment to a community.
