Longtime En Garde Arts Chairperson and board member Joan D. Firestone is being honored with the creation of a fund in her name. En Garde Arts has raised $100,000 through a group of generous donors. This is a five year endeavor and every year one theatre artist will receive an $18,000 award and will have full freedom with how to use the funds.

Irish Repertory Theatre will present Poetic Reflections: Words Upon the Window Pane, a series of films from the Adrian Brinkerhoff Poetry Foundation (Amy Holmes, Executive Director), featuring poets and actors reading poems from Ireland, the United States and England. 

On Monday, June 9, 2014, Sir Kenneth Branagh presented the Shakespeare Medal to Richard Easton and The Public Theater's Oskar Eustis presented the Linda Gross Playing Shakespeare Award to Hamish Linklater at the Shakespeare Society's Annual Playing Shakespeare Celebration.
