CSULB Theatre Arts Department to Stage A COOL DIP IN THE BARREN SAHARAN CRICK

?CSULB Theatre Arts Department's University Players presents A Cool Dip in the Barren Saharan Crick by Kia Corthron, directed by Dr. Jaye Austin Williams. This dramatic work tackles the issues of loss, social injustice, religion, and race. A Cool Dip in the Barren Saharan Crick plays April 22nd through May 7th in the Players Theatre on the CSULB campus.

Victory Gardens Sets Cast of HILLARY AND CLINTON World Premiere

Victory Gardens Theater announces casting for the next show of its 41st season, the world premiere of Hillary and Clinton by Lucas Hnath, directed by Artistic Director Chay Yew. Hillary and Clinton runs April 1 - May 1, 2016, with the press performance on Friday, April 8, 2016, at 7:30 pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Revisited Classics Stages Free Reading of Anton Chekhov's THREE SISTERS on 3/7

Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters, co-adapted by Shawn Rene Graham and John-Martin Green is transposed to America in the early 1900s.  Set on a cavalry outpost in rural Texas, this is the tale of a group of cultured, intelligent blacks in turn-of-the-century America observing the kind of entitlement that wealthy whites had always taken for granted, and the price they pay for that entitlement. The reading is on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

Teatro Vista to Premiere WHERE DID WE SIT ON THE BUS?

Teatro Vista, in association with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and Victory Gardens Theater, presents the world premiere of Where Did We Sit on the Bus?, created and performed by Brian Quijada and directed by Victory Gardens' Artistic Director, Chay Yew. The production will take place at the Storefront Theater, 66 E. Randolph St. Chicago. Opening/Press night is Thursday, March 17 at 7:30 pm.  Regular performances are from Friday, March 18 through Sunday, April 10. Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Preview performances run from Thursday, March 10 through Wednesday, March 16. All tickets are $15. Students and seniors (65+) with valid I.D. are $12. Discounts are also available for groups of 20 or more. Tickets may be purchased at all HotTix locations or by visiting www.teatrovista.org.

The Public Theater presents the American play Eclipsed, written by Danai Gurira. Directed by Obie Award winner Liesl Tommy and featuring Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o in her New York stage debut, this powerful story of survival and resilience opens at The Public Theater tonight, October 14, and will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, November 29.

It will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, November 29 with an official press opening on Wednesday, October 14.
