Florida Studio Theatre Launches 2014 Favorite Poem Project; Deadline 4/7

Florida Studio Theatre has announced the beginning of the 2014 Favorite Poem Project in partnership with BookStore1Sarasota. FST will host the 2014 Favorite Poem Reading with special guests, Mark Doty, winner of the National Book Award, and Kevin Young, award-winning poet on May 3, 2014 at 3pm in the Keating Theatre. Submission forms are available at the FST box office or at BookStore1Sarasota. All submissions are due in to BookStore1Sarasota no later than April 7.

Performance Network's RED Extended thru June 3

In response to demand for tickets, Performance Network Theatre is extending the critically acclaimed drama, "Red," for one week only. Written by John Logan, "Red" will now run through Sunday, June 3, at which time it must close to make way for the summer comedy, "In the Next Room or the vibrator play." "Red" is directed by Carla Milarch and stars Mark Rademacher and Kevin Young.

Magenta Giraffe Theatre Company Presents 4th Annual Staged Reading Festival, 3/31-4/1

As part of its mission "to reestablish and expand Detroit's theatre district," Magenta Giraffe Theatre Company has chosen plays by Michigan natives and current Michigan residents to stage as part of a festival to take place March 31 and April 1, 2012, at the Abreact Performance Space (1301 W. Lafayette, #1301, Detroit, MI 48226). Attendees will see a reading of each play and are encouraged to participate in a workshop-style discussion afterward. Admission is by donation only.

Written, directed, produced, and performed by Anne Fidler, Kevin Young, Paul Travisano, and Tyler Foltz.
