Broadway Across America - Ft. Lauderdale presents the Farewell Tour of the smash hit musical Mamma Mia! at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. 20 year old Sophie is planning to marry, and wants her father to be present to give her away. Unfortunately, she does not know who her father is. After reading her mother's diary, she concludes he is one of three men, so she invites all of them to her wedding, on the Greek Island on which she lives with her still single mother, in the hopes of sorting it out.

Good morning, BroadwayWorld! This weekend's big news: The 2017 Drama League Awards will be held today, and THE WHIRLIGIG, featuring Zosia Mamet, Waterwell's dual-language HAMLET, and Robert Schenkkan's BUILDING THE WALL all open Off-Broadway on Sunday!

MAMMA MIA! opened at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center on May 12 and will continue to play through May 14. It is an effervescent, energizing and spirited show that is nothing short of delightful.

MAMMA MIA! will play at Wausau's Grand Theater on May 11 and at Appleton's Fox Cities Performing Arts Center from May 12-14.

Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus' MAMMA MIA!. The smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, returns to Fort Lauderdale for 5 performances only. Performances begin on May 19 and run through May 21 at the The Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

The farewell tour of the hit musical, MAMMA MIA!, based on the songs of ABBA, returns to Fort Lauderdale in May of 2017.

On March 24, 2017, a group of Broadway professionals took to the stage at PS 125 in Harlem to be part of a panel called BROADWAY BOUND: Careers in the Theatre and Beyond. This special event panel was presented by Project Broadway in partnership with Harlem Grown. Over two hundred students between the ages of 7-12 from PS197, PS154, and PS125 came together to be part in an interactive panel where Broadway experts offered insight, education and advice on working on and off Broadway. 

Every child dreams of coming to NYC to become a Broadway star. For a select few this dream might come true. However, if you're a young student in Harlem there's a good chance you've never even been in a Broadway theater; or have any performing arts classes offered to you in your school. You would have no idea that if you're not a talented 'triple threat' that there are many career opportunities in the theater. And that's where Project Broadway and Marc Tumminelli step in. Project Broadway in partnership with Harlem Grown will be hosting a panel discussion and Q&A for over 200 students from PS197, PS154, and PS125 ages 7-12 on Friday March 24th.

On Tuesday, March 21, the Onassis Cultural Center New York will kick off a dynamic, cross-disciplinary spring season of public programs, presented in conjunction with the major new exhibition A World of Emotions: Ancient Greece, 700 BC - 200 AD.

The laughter has begun!  Paper Mill Playhouse, recipient of the 2016 Regional Theatre Tony® Award, presents the comedy by Ken Ludwig, A Comedy of Tenors, the hilarious sequel to the Tony® Award-winning comedy Lend Me a Tenor. 

MAMMA MIA has been entertaining audiences all over the world and has audiences on their feet singing and dancing to the inspiring music of ABBA. As the Farewell Tour winds down, Broadway World was able to catch up with Cashelle Butler who is playing the role or Tanya. She shares her joy in this exciting role and how she is enjoying the life she always dreamed about.

Significant Other will begin previews at The Booth Theatre (222 West 45th St.) on Valentine's Day, Tuesday, February 14th, and will officially open Thursday, March 2nd. The company just met the press and BroadwayWorld was there to bring you photos from the special day!

Just last night, producers Morgan James, Richard Amelius and Torya Beard presented a female-centered concert of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, directed by Richard Amelius (Time Between Us, Empty City), with musical direction by Julie McBride (Amazing Grace, Finding Neverland). 

Despite the ice storm outside, the Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater was sizzling. The famous jukebox musical, Mamma Mia!, with music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus and a book by Catherine Johnson, is the latest national tour to come to Syracuse, New York as part of the Famous Artists Broadway Theater Series.

A woman of many talents, one of Sandra Bernhard's greatest gifts has been her finely-honed ability to satirize Hollywood from the inside. Luckily, her latest residency at Joe's Pub, the year-ending SANDRA MONICA BLVD: COAST TO COAST, gave her plenty of opportunities to keep sharpening that blade.

ON YOUR FEET!'s Doreen Montalvo will celebrate the release of her new album on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 9:30 PM at The Metropolitan Room (Doors at 9 PM).

Just last night, Sarah Ruhl was honored with the 2016 Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award  at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. The evening featured performances of Ruhl's work by Blair Brown, Kathleen Chalfant, Maria Dizzia, Jessica Hecht, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Polly Noonan and Joseph J. Parks.
