Following on the heels of last year's sensational Il mondo della luna at the Hayden Planetarium, Gotham Chamber Opera announces that The New 42nd Street presents, at The New Victory Theater, a Gotham Chamber Opera and Tectonic Theater Project production in association with Blind Summit Theatre, Xavier Montsalvatge's El gato con botas (Puss in Boots), a stunning new production of the classic children's tale directed by Moisés Kaufman and conducted by Neal Goren, which will be presented in October 2010.
AMERICAN OPERA PROJECTS (AOP) and LivelyWorks present a workshop production of The Golden Gate, an opera in two acts with music by Conrad Cummings and libretto from the novel-in-verse by Vikram Seth adapted by the composer. The performances, on Saturday January 16 and Sunday January 17, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. will take place at the Rose Studio, 10th Floor of the Rose Building (next door to The Juilliard School, enter on 65th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue).

This year Symphony Space samples some of the greatest music from the Great White Way for Wall to Wall Broadway: A Century of Musicals, a twelve-hour celebration of the music of Broadway on May 16 from 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m., FREE.

Gilbert and Sullivan's classic comic opera The Pirates of Penzance presented by the New York City Opera, opened on Wednesday, March 7 at 7:30PM at the New York State Theater at Lincoln Center.
New York City Opera's 63rd season begins March 3rd with Gilbert and Sullivan's 'Pirates on Panzance.' La Donna Del Lago and Madama Butterfly will follow.
