The International Street Cannibals (ISC), hailed by The New York Times as a “brash new-music ensemble,” join forces with young boxers from the legendary Gleason's Gym for “STRIKE!” – a concert event in which contemporary chamber music commingles with boxing rounds and choreography.

Thanks to the efforts of philanthropist and veterans activist, Patricia Kennedy, founder of Step Up 4 Vets, a not for profit organization whose mission is to partner in the transition of our returning veterans as they readjust, redirect and rebuild their civilian lives, 55 veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan made up for many missed holidays with an all day family celebration centered around the acclaimed Joffrey Ballet's renowned Nutcracker. 26 years ago, longtime Joffrey Board member & close friend of Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino raised the funds to create the Joffrey's now internationally acclaimed Nutcracker. Kevin Anderson Joins Cast of Steppenwolf's THE BIRTHDAY PARTY

Casting is complete for Steppenwolf Theatre Company's upcoming production of Harold Pinter's The Birthday Party, under the direction of ensemble member Austin Pendleton. Ensemble member Kevin Anderson joins the previously announced cast: ensemble members Ian Barford, Francis Guinan, Moira Harris and John Mahoney with Sophia Sinise. The Birthday Party begins performances January 24, 2013 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Opening night is February 3, 2013; press performances are February 2 at 3pm and February 5 at 7:30pm. Tickets ($20 - $78) go on sale at a later date.

The Break of Noon, which is a co-production with MCC in New York, will feature Catherine Dent as well as Tracee Chimo and John Earl Jelks, who performed their roles in the New York portion of the run. Helmed by director Jo Bonney, The Break of Noon begins in previews on January 25, 2011 and officially opens February 2, 2011.
