FOX's live broadcast of GREASE: LIVE made TV history this year by collecting a total of 10 Emmy nominations- the most nominations ever received for a live musical. With the Emmys approaching next month, Lin-Manuel Miranda just hosted a special panel to celebrate the show, featuring Thomas Kail (director), Alex Rudzinski (director), William Ivey Long (costumes), Bernie Telsey (casting), and Aaron Tveit (Danny Zuko).
FX Sets Premiere Dates for AMERICAN HORROR STORY, ATLANTA & BETTER THINGS

FX has set the premiere dates for two of the year's most anticipated new comedy series, Atlanta and Better Things, as well as the return of the acclaimed and award-winning American Horror Story for its sixth installment, it was announced today by Chuck Saftler, President of Program Strategy and COO, FX Networks. Atlanta, a half-hour comedy series created by and starring Donald Glover, will premiere on FX on September 6, followed two days later by Better Things, a half-hour comedy series co-created by Pamela Adlon and Louis C.K. and starring Adlon. Then on September 14, the as-yet-untitled sixth installment of the Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) winning limited series American Horror Story returns from co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.

FX Networks has set the premiere dates for the highly-anticipated third seasons of The Strain and You're the Worst, it was announced today by Chuck Saftler, President of Program Strategy and COO, FX Networks. The Strain returns to FX with a 10-episode season on Sundays at 10 PM ET/PT starting August 28. You're the Worst is back for 13 episodes on FXX on Wednesdays at 10 PM ET/PT beginning August 31.

Now that we are a full two weeks removed from Fox's first foray into the world of live, televised musicals, I think it is time to look back at the lessons learned from GREASE: LIVE. Though I hailed it as a rousing success in my review, on Broadway Radio's 'This Week on Broadway,' and on BWW's 'Some Like it Pop' podcast, there are a fair number of critics and viewers that had perfectly reasonable hesitations. Whether it was occasional sound issues, too strict a reliance on the film for inspiration, the wonky new song, or uneven performances, I am fine with acknowledging those shortcomings; but to me, there are three things that made GREASE: LIVE the most entertaining and artistically satisfying live musical of this recently reinvigorated phenomenon.

Like greased lightning! CTV's very big January concluded last night with 1.7 million viewers for GREASE: LIVE preliminary overnight data from Numeris reveals, making it the #1 entertainment program Sunday with total viewers and all key demos. The special peaked with 2.37 million viewers, tuning in to Sandy and Danny's dance solo during 'Born To Hand Jive'.
