Photo Flash: CCRI Summer Repertory Theatre Presents HAMLET

The Community College of Rhode Island Players will present the second production their first annual summer repertory series, "The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark," in Room 0540, the Band Room, at the Knight Campus in Warwick. "Hamlet," directed by CCRI Prof. Theodore R. Clement, will run at 7:30 PM Thursday to Saturday, Aug. 10 to 12, and at 2 PM on Sunday, Aug. 13.

Short But Brief: CCRI Players Present Student-Directed 10-Minute Plays

The Community College of Rhode Island conclude their 2016-2017 season with Some Ten Words Long, a program of six student-directed ten-minute plays. Performances will be presented at the Liston Campus, 1 Hilton St. in Providence, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 20, 21, and 22 at 7:30 P.M., and on Saturday and Sunday, April 22 and 23, at 2 P.M.

CCRI Players Present Swing Era ROMEO AND JULIET

One of William Shakespeare's most enduring and iconic plays returns to the local stage as the Community College of Rhode Island Players perform Romeo and Juliet. This play which has become the quintessential story of young love will be presented at the Bobby Hackett Theatre, Knight Campus in Warwick on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 2, 3, and 4, at 7:30 P.M., and on Saturday and Sunday, March 4 and 5, at 2 P.M.

Simon Stephens' CARMEN DISRUPTION Opens Tonight at the Almeida

The UK Premiere of CARMEN DISRUPTION opens tonight 17 April at the Almeida Theatre. Award-winning playwright Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Birdland, Three Kingdoms) makes his Almeida debut with this dramatic reimagining of Bizet's Carmen. Michael Longhurst directs his first production at the Almeida following great acclaim in New York and London for Constellations by Nick Payne.

St. James Theatre's THE THRILL OF LOVE Begins Tonight

Amanda Whittington's new play, The Thrill of Love, directed by James Dacre, will run at the newly opened St. James Theatre from tonight, 27 March to Saturday 4 May, with press night today 3 April 2013. The production comes to the St. James Theatre following its world premiere at the New Vic Theatre, Newcastle-under-Lyme and a further run at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough.

Winner of the Holden Street Theatres' Edinburgh Award for 2012 and the BBC Alfred Bradley Award, Glory Dazed is a darkly comic and acerbic look at the impact of war upon returning soldiers, developed with ex-servicemen prisoners at HMP & YOI Doncaster. The play comes to Adelaide following an Old Vic New Voices Edinburgh Season and was rated 20th of 2,700 shows at the Edinburgh Fringe according to The List's Top Rated List.
