The Northeast Children's Theatre Company (NCTC), a professional not-for-profit theatre company for young audiences and families, is proud to kick off its second season in residence at the Fairfield Theatre Company with 'The Cat In The Hat,' a wildly popular stage adaptation based on the Dr. Seuss book of the same name. The production is directed by Morgan Weitz and features an adapted book by Katie Mitchell.

An Enemy of the People by Henrik Ibsen, in a version by Florian Borchmeyer Schaubu?hne am Lehniner Platz, will be directed by Thomas Ostermeier from an adaptation by Florian Borchmeyer in the BAM Harvey Theatre (651 Fulton St), November 6-9, 2013.

American Theatre magazine, published by Theatre Communications Group (TCG), has released its annual October 'Season Preview' issue, featuring the Top 10 Most-Produced Plays list. Based on the 2013-14 seasons reported by TCG's Member Theatres in Theatre Profiles, the Top 10 list omits holiday themed shows (such as The Santaland Diaries and A Christmas Carol) as well as works by Shakespeare. The issue also features articles on successful playwright and actor relationships, musical adaptations of Shakespeare, and Robert Schenkkan's two plays based on the life of President Lyndon Johnson.

JUSTJONES& The Albany present the world premiere and national tour of an award-winning new adaptation of AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE, adapted and directed from Henrik Ibsen by Rebecca Manson Jones and designed by Jens Demant Cole. The cast features Sarah Malin and Rupert Holliday Evans, with Elizabeth Elvin, Samuel Lawrence, Yana Penrose, Matt Ray Brown, and Lawrence Stubbings.

According to American Theatre magazine, the most performed play in the country the upcoming 2013-2014 season will be David Ives' Venus in Fur, with 22 productions across the country. Venus in Fur opened on Broadway in 2011, starring Hugh Dancy and Nina Arianda in a Tony Award-winning performance.

Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat is set to delight audiences this summer, making its Center for Puppetry Arts debut tonight, June 13-July 28. The story features everyone's favorite moments with Sally and her brother, their pet Fish, Thing 1 and Thing 2-and, of course, the story's namesake, that famous Cat in the red and white striped hat! Zany fun and adventures abound in this memorable tale!

The Barn Theatre ushers in the summer with its 'Solstice Showcase: 2013 One-Act Festival.' The three-day event celebrates original works from rising theatrical artists, and features the talents over 20 performers from around New Jersey. Performances are on Friday, June 14, 2013 and Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 2 p.m.

Marin Theatre Company's artistic director Jasson Minadakis and managing director Michael Barker announced today that the company is launching its first theater series for young audiences during its upcoming 2013/14 season.
