SCENERY Launches “Merde” Handbag To Celebrate The Dance Community

On Friday, August 30th, SCENERY launched Merde in the Curtain Call collection. This handbag is the 'Break a leg' bag for the dance world! 'Merde' is the word dancers use to wish each other a good show. The bag is created from black drops, called legs, that hang on either side of the stage separating the world onstage from the world offstage and featuring gold metallic embroidery with the message “merde”.

Best known for his starring roles in Broadway's A Bronx Tale, Waitress, and Bullets Over Broadway, the award-winning actor will be singing an eclectic mix of jazz, soul, latin, blues, and rock & roll, as well as selections from his Broadway career. This gifted performer will excite and surprise those who thought they knew him. Known to many as an Italian gangster from New York's outer boroughs, this Latin Canadian reveals his true self through the music that has inspired him throughout his life.

MCC Theater's production of the New York premiere of Alice By Heart, the new musical from Spring Awakening creators Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater, begins previews on January 30th. The show is directed and co-written by Jessie Nelson, who penned the book for Waitress and will be the first show in the Newman Mills Theater, which is part of the new Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space. Alice by Heart stars Molly Gordon as Alice Spencer, a teenager forced to take shelter in an underground tube station during the London Blitz of World War II.
