Each year The Playwrights Realm will choose a select number of emerging playwrights as the 'Playwrights Realm Writers Fellows.' As a Writers Fellow, the chosen playwrights will receive a monetary stipend, as well as additional support in the form of, office space at The Playwrights Realm offices, office supplies, administrative assistance, and artistic support all culminating in an open reading of their work.
PIPELINE READING SERIES- STRANGE LOOP - Sunday, November 8th Beginning Sunday, November 8th at 7:00pm at ART New York's Bruce Mitchell Room (520 8th Avenue, 3rd floor) The Playwrights Realm will kick off the 'Pipeline Reading Series' - a series of staged readings of new works by emerging artists - with STRANGE LOOP, a new musical by Michael R. Jackson, directed by Maria Goyanes.
The 2009-2010 Playwrights Realm season will be helmed by a sole Artistic Director, as John Dias has decided to step down from his post of co-Artistic Director to pursue other outside projects. Taking the full helm as Artistic Director of The Playwrights Realm will be Katherine Kovner, who along with Producing Director Stephanie Ybarra, will continue company's vision.
