Some of the West End's biggest stars have been nominated in BroadwayWorld UK's first-ever awards!

Following on the heels of last year's sensational Il mondo della luna at the Hayden Planetarium, Gotham Chamber Opera announces that The New 42nd Street presents, at The New Victory Theater, a Gotham Chamber Opera and Tectonic Theater Project production in association with Blind Summit Theatre, Xavier Montsalvatge's El gato con botas (Puss in Boots), a stunning new production of the classic children's tale directed by Moisés Kaufman and conducted by Neal Goren, which will be presented in October 2010.

Hair closed in the West End on September 4, 2010 and BroadwayWorld UK was there to bid the cast farewell.

The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical will bow early in the West End on September 4, 2010, producers have revealed. While the production was scheduled to run through January 2011, the producers have reportedly decided not to recast the show after the current cast's contracts are up on September 4. The production opened at the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End April 14th, 2010.

On Wednesday, September 1, HAIR's 'Claude,' Gavin Creel, bid farewell to the production at the Gielgud Theatre in the West End. Creel originated the role in the Broadway revival that transferred to London this spring, which opened officially on April 14th, 2010. Tony Award-nominated choreographer Karole Armitage will again work with director Diane Paulus for American Repertory Theater's production of DEATH AND THE POWERS: THE ROBOTS' OPERA during the 2011 season.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.), under the Artistic Direction of Diane Paulus, is pleased to announce further details of its 2010/11 Season, beginning on August 31 with Cabaret, followed by Alice vs. Wonderland, The Blue Flower, R. Last week, August 16, the cast of HAIR took the stage with U.S. thespians Shoshanna Bean and Norm Lewis for a special concert at Freedom Bar, performing gospel, musical theatre, rock, pop, and R&B tunes through the wee morning hours. BroadwayWorld brings you coverage of the concert below!

Dance in Three Theories, July 14-18, a new contemporary ballet work choreographed by Artistic Director Karole Armitage and inspired by physicist Brian Greene's best-selling book The Elegant Universe. A former member of the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève, Armitage has worked with Mikhail Baryshnikov, Merce Cunningham, and Madonna, and her dance repertoire ranges from ballet to a Tony Award nomination for the Broadway show, Hair.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater has announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of Little Doc, written by award-winning filmmaker Dan Klores and directed by John Gould Rubin. Opening the company's 16th Season, performances of Little Doc will begin Friday, June 11 at Rattlestick Theatre (224 Waverly Place).
