Michael Croiter, musician and owner of the recording production facility Yellow Sound Lab, and Tony Award®-winning Orchestrator Bill Sherman (In the Heights) have partnered to launch YELLOW SOUND LABEL, a brand new record label that will produce an eclectic array of albums from some of today's biggest talents from Broadway and beyond. Yellow Sound Label recently signed a distribution deal with Alternative Distribution Alliance (A.D.A. Distribution), part of Warner Bros. Music, and is set to premiere on September 22 with the release of Tony Award® winner Alan Cumming's new album, I Bought a Blue Car Today.

The incomparable Chita Rivera releases a new solo studio album entitled And Now I Swing on October 13, 2009 from the newly-launched Yellow Sound Label. From classic theater songs to jazz standards, all tracks featured on this new album have received new arrangements recorded by New York's finest musicians, reimagining some of Chita's favorite tunes.
WEST SIDE STORY Announces Changes To The Spanish Integration In The Show

The smash hit revival of WEST SIDE STORY announced today that slight changes have been implemented into the current Broadway production at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at 47th Street). 'A Boy Like That' is now predominately sung in English to the original lyrics and selected dialogue and lyrics in 'I Feel Pretty' have reverted to English. The changes went into effect last Thursday, August 20, 2009.

The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of Euripides' THE BACCHAE, directed by JoAnne Akalaitis with original music by Philip Glass and translated by Nicholas Rudall, will run through August 30 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The official press opening took place last night, Monday, August 24 at 8 p.m. Performances of Shakespeare in the Park will be Tuesday through Sunday at 8pm.

Matt Cavenaugh, Tony in Broadway's West Side Story, and Jenny Powers, the co-star of LCT's recent musical Happiness, are getting married in Boston today, August 23rd, at the Gate of Heaven Catholic Church in Boston. The Rev. Lawrence J. Drennan, a Roman Catholic priest, is to perform the ceremony.

Sony Masterworks proudly presented the recent release of the New Broadway Cast Recording of WEST SIDE STORY. The recording became available nationwide on June 2, 2009. The official opening of WEST SIDE STORY, which took place at the Palace Theatre in New York City on Thursday, March 19, 2009, has been greeted with great critical acclaim and sold-out performances. The opening followed a pre-Broadway engagement at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C., where the musical made its original world premiere in 1957.
