The Humane Society of the United States hosted its 2020 To the Rescue! gala earlier this evening, raising over 2 million dollars to benefit the organization's animal rescue efforts. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was held virtually.
The Humane Society of the United States' annual To the Rescue! gala will take place on Nov. 14, 2020. 'Saturday Night Live' Emmy nominated cast member Cecily Strong will host the virtual event, which will feature a special performance by Tony, Grammy and Emmy award-winner, singer and actor Audra McDonald, who will also host the pre-show.
Wayside Theatre has announced the winner and runner up of the Young Playwrights' Competition. The winners were chosen by a panel of readers on Wayside Theatre's staff, who read and judged the plays without knowing the identity of the playwrights.
