New York cabaret performer and musical theater actress Liz McKendry (currently appearing the musical Boeing, Boeing at the Cape May Stage until September 13) has been cast to portray late 19th-early 20th-Century Theater legend Fay Templeton in Up in a Balloon, a one-woman comedy about Templeton's life and career, written by New York actress Karen McDonald. The show, which previously had successful workshops in New York and Toronto, will be performed today, September 1 at 3pm on the Cape May Stage at The Robert Shackleton Playhouse in Cape May, New Jersey. Admission is free. (Theater is located at 405 Lafayette Street.)

Bridge Rep of Boston is pleased to announce their 2013-2014 season; the first for the new company. In March, Bridge Rep debuted with 'The Lover', by Harold Pinter, at the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts, to critical acclaim. The producers of the brand new 20th anniversary production of Jonathan Harvey's classic play, Beautiful Thing, are thrilled to announced full casting for the show, which will open at the Arts Theatre in the West End from 13 April - 25 May, followed by a short UK tour visiting Liverpool, Leeds and Brighton. Directed by Nikolai Foster, and designed by Colin Richmond, the production will star Suranne Jones as 'Sandra', Zaraah Abrahams as 'Leah', Oliver Farnworth as 'Tony and introducing Jake Davies as 'Jamie' and Danny-Boy Hatchard, making his professional debut as 'Ste'. Nancy Sullivan and Luke Baker will also join the company as understudy covers.
Max Stafford-Clark's new production of Caryl Churchill's Top Girls is to transfer to the Trafalgar Studios following its critically acclaimed, sell-out run at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester. Top Girls, produced in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions, will run at the Trafalgar Studios from 5 August - 15 October 2011 with press night on 16 August 2011. Designs are by Tim Shortall with lighting by Jason Taylor, sound by Ian Dickinson and video design by Finn Ross. Stafford-Clark's Out of Joint/ Chichester Festival Theatre co-production reunites him with producer Sonia Friedman, with whom he co-founded Out of Joint Theatre Company in 1993.
