Cincinnati Arts Association Reveals 2015 Overture Award Winners

The Cincinnati Arts Association is pleased to announce the winners of its Overture Awards Competition, held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater, and the winner of its new Arts Educator Award for Excellence in Arts Instruction. The competition awarded $4,000 to six area students for education and training, with 18 runners-up each winning $1,000, while the Arts Educator Award winner received $2,500 and two finalists were awarded $500 each.

Chicago Theaters Will Unite for Gilda's Club & Sondheim's 85th Birthday at Stage 773, 3/22

On Sunday, March 22nd, a very special performance honoring Stephen Sondheim with proceeds to Gilda's Club Chicago will take place at Stage 773 in Chicago. Improvised Sondheim Project, along with Jeff Award Nominees Option Up, and special guests The Hypocrites and Kokandy Productions, will unite for an evening of entertainment on the occasion of Sondheim's 85th birthday.

Pacific Northwest Ballet Announces 2015-2016 Season, Which Features EMERGENCE, ROMEO ET JULIETTE

Artistic Director Peter Boal has announced to subscribers the line-up for Pacific Northwest Ballet's 2015-2016 season. Highlights include a program devoted to the work of American master choreographers George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, and Twyla Tharp; the return of popular works by Balanchine (The Prodigal Son), Robbins (The Concert), Christopher Wheeldon (Tide Harmonic), and Crystal Pite (Emergence); two story ballets (Romeo et Juliette and Coppelia), PNB premieres by Justin Peck, Jessica Lang, and Alejandro Cerrudo; a newly reconstructed Le Corsaire: A Pirate's Tale for matinee fanily audiences; and the unveiling of Balanchine's The Nutcrackerwith brand-new sets and costumes by Ian Falconer.

Olympia Dukakis, Estelle Parsons and More Set for ASPHODEL Reading at 92Y Next Week

In advance of the inaugural Eudora Welty Biennial, which opens in Jackson, Mississippi, 92Y's Unterberg Poetry Center presents a dramatic reading of Asphodel, a story of three women visiting a country estate in memory of an eccentric friend who recently passed away. The production features actresses Olympia Dukakis, Estelle Parsons and Brenda Currin; David Kaplan is the director.

Telemundo Launches Year-Round Health Platform PREVENIR ES VIVIR

At a launch event from the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, Telemundo and NBC UNIVERSO today announced the launch of Prevenir Es Vivir (Prevention is Life), a comprehensive, year-round health platform that is geared towards informing, educating and empowering U.S. Hispanics about how to prevent common health issues.
