SINGERS FORUM is pleased to announce the production of SHOWSTOPPERS, directed and hosted by Eric Michael Gillett. The event is a benefit for the Singers Forum Actors Equity Scholarship Program, which offers members of Actors Equity Association affordable vocal lessons.
Full casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale to the general public for the new musical comedy NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, featuring music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin. Academy Award-winner Estelle Parsons joins previously announced stars two-time Tony Award-winner Matthew Broderick and three-time Tony Award nominee Kelli O'Hara with Tony Award winner Judy Kaye. NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT is directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall and features a book by two-time Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro. The production begins performances on Thursday, March 29, 2012 and will officially open on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Broadway's Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street).
The New York Musical Theatre Festival and J&B Productions present the musical Jane Austen'S PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, a musical - a story of 'First Impressions' and second chances - with music, lyrics and book by Lindsay Warren Baker and Amanda Jacobs, directed by Igor Goldin ('YANK!'), and starring, in the title role of Jane Austen, Donna Lynne Champlin ('Sweeney Todd,' 'Billy Elliot').
On Septembet 14th in the Heart of Times Square, 60 New York City Theatre Professionals (ranging from Broadway Veterans, to Radio City Rockettes) began to arise from the hustle and bustle to sing and dance their hearts out about the hottest nail product on the market: Shellac, created by CND (www.CND.COM). This was one of the biggest and most exciting Musical Theatre Flashmob's ever produced in Times Square, not just a random step touch dance number but a fully stage production number with ladies belting their faces and kicking about as high as the second floor of the A.E.A building.
