The Great American Songbook Foundation, founded by Grammy-nominated vocalist, Michael Feinstein, has selected 40 students from across the country to participate in the 2016 Songbook Academy. High school vocalists representing 17 states will compete for top awards on Saturday, July 23 at the Songbook Academy final concert at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel. Broadway Boot Camp at the Manatee Performing Arts Center will present the Stephen Schwartz musical CHILDREN OF EDEN on July 25 at 7 p.m. and July 26 at 2 p.m.

MISS SAIGON opens at the Manatee Players on March 28 and runs through April 14! This will be the first show performed in the new Manatee Performing Arts Center.

The age-old tale of Boy-Meets-Girl and the complications which ensue intrigue every audience, and no musical puts it on stage better than ANYTHING GOES. This show is an amusing story wrapped around one of Cole Porter's magical scores. Terrific Cole Porter songs include It's De-Lovely, Friendship, I Get A Kick Out Of You, All Through The Night, Anything Goes, You're The Top, Blow, Gabriel, Blow, Buddie Beware and Easy To Love. It's a wonder that all the romances are sorted out and disaster is averted aboard the magical ship where ANYTHING GOES!

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's EVITA opens at the Manatee Players on September 20 and runs through October 7. Performances are Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $26 including facility fee for adults, $15 including facility fee for teachers and $13 including facility fee for students.
