Otherworld Theatre Aims To Make History Creating First Venue Dedicated To Sci-Fi and Fantasy Performance

Otherworld Theatre Company announced a tentative agreement to lease the theatre space at 3914 N Clark Street as their new artistic home and the world's first venue dedicated to Science Fiction and Fantasy performance, pending a successful capital fundraising campaign. The fundraising campaign, if successful, will fund the operational costs in this space for one year while programming is established and Otherworld's audience base and revenue streams are expanded to support the added cost of this venue.

The world premiere of the first English-language adaptation of the classic novella by Ghassan Kanafani, Returning to Haifa, adapted for the stage by Naomi Wallace and Ismail Khalidi, opens at the Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season on Tuesday, 27 February 2018 (Press Nights: Thursday 1 and Friday 2 March 2018 at 7.30pm).

A Confederate deserter, John Carter's world is turned upside-down when he finds himself mysteriously transported to the surface of Mars, where he is forced into a colossal conflicts between the planet's alien races. Poised on the edge of collapse, the planet's fate comes to rest on Carter's war-weary shoulders-and now he must choose sides. Filled with extra-terrestrial environments, epic battles, elaborate costuming and more, A Princess of Mars at Berger Park promises to whisk you away on an unforgettable theatrical adventure.
