Tony Award winner Debra Monk attended the current rare revival of David Rabe's IN THE BOOM BOOM ROOM Thursday night Off-Broadway. She was accompanied by playwright/actor Michael Rabe (son of Mr. Rabe and Jill Clayburgh), with whom she starred in David Rabe's VISITING EDNA at Steppenwolf last fall.

The cast features Pete Mattaliano, who also appeared in the play's world premiere at Villanova University in 1972. Joseph Papp subsequently presented IN THE BOOM BOOM ROOM on Broadway in 1973 starring Robert Loggia, Charles Durning and Madeline Kahn, and the following year at The Public with Christopher Lloyd and Ellen Greene. On Monday, September 26, 2016, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 12 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2016 recipients at its annual awards ceremony, The IT Awards. Hosted by a crowd favorite, Jason Kravits and directed by award winning director and sound designer, DeLisa White the ceremony took place from 7pm to 10pm at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.
