The 28th Annual LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards, celebrating theatrical excellence and achievement throughout Los Angeles, were presented on Monday, January 29, at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown LA.

Love and pharmaceuticals make for a strange cocktail in Kate Fodor's piercing new comedy Rx. Containing equally strong doses of satire and insight, Fodor's play strikingly portrays our over-medicated society, which has a pill to alleviate every uncomfortable emotion. A winning combination of comedy and romance, Rx pokes gentle fun at our over-prescribed culture and our need to find pleasure in everything we do.

Rx, a new comedy by Kate Fodor, has been set for its Los Angeles premiere today, January 10 through March 2 at the Lost Studio on La Brea. Directed by John Pleshette, there will be one preview performance tonight, January 10 at 8pm and opening is set for Saturday, January 11 at 8pm. Rx will play a limited engagement through March 2 only.

Described by critics as “uplifting” and “the feel-good movie of the year,” Lion Ark is heading to L.A. after taking the film festival circuit by storm over recent weeks with sell out shows at Raindance London, Mill Valley Film Festival, Starz Denver Film Festival, and scooping Audience Choice Best Documentary at San Diego Film Festival.

A Holland New Voices Award came shortly afterwards, and now playwright Henry Murray is ready for its close-up at Rogue Machine, known for staging new works. This will be a West Coast Premiere in one of the country's most vibrant cities for new plays, Los Angeles, opening tonight, September 15, 2012.
