The international blockbuster WICKED will play its 5,759th Broadway performance on Wednesday, August 16 at 7pm, surpassing Mamma Mia to become the 8th longest-running production in Broadway history.
The Broadway blockbuster Wicked just welcomed new cast members to the Gershwin Theatre last week. Jackie Burns makes her long-awaited return to the Gershwin Theatre and the role of Elphaba for the first time since 2013, having recently concluded her starring run in the national tour of If/Then, of which she was also an original Broadway company member. She also played the role of Elphaba on the national tour of Wicked, where her performance received an Irene Award nomination.
Alex Helfrecht's adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's Fiesta: The Sun Also Rises opens in Paris and ends in Pamplona, where complex human relationships blister under the heat of the Spanish sun. Physical performances and live music conjure up all the ex-pat decadence of the 1920s, and tell a truly gripping story.
The roar of the bullring and the smell of sweat & blood will fill the intimate Trafalgar Studio 2 with the world premiere of FIESTA, the passionate adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's first novel The Sun Also Rises, from TUESDAY 5 FEBRUARY 2013.
Following last year's sell-out success, MAD presented this year's annual festive fundraiser at The Actors' Church, Covent Garden, A WEST END CHRISTMAS. The event took place on December 4, and guests perfoming included: Peter Bowles, Maureen Lipman, Nigel Harman, Alison Jiear, Scott Garnham, Will Barratt & Keiran B. Brown, alongside West End Casts including: Disney's The Lion King, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Shrek, 39 Steps and Legally Blonde.
The evening also featued an original song by Bobby Cronin and Angelyn Benson from their adaptation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, performed by Jye Frasca (JERSEY BOYS, THRILL ME).
