Of course, the prospect of a little snow wouldn't deter honorees from coming out, though it did slightly impact the order of the evening's events, shifting the 'grand finale' to the 'grand opening.'

Richard Move/MoveOpolis! opens New York Live Arts LIVE IDEAS 2017 festival with the world premiere of XXYY, a multilayered work conceived and directed by Move, with costumes by acclaimed theater artist Alba Clemente and an original score by Italian electronic music pioneer Martux_m.
The Public Theater will begin previews for the world premiere musical THE OUTER SPACE on Thursday, February 23 in Joe's Pub at The Public. With book and lyrics by Ethan Lipton and directed by Leigh Silverman, the show has been extended one week through Sunday, April 9, with an official press opening today, March 8. Choreographer Trajal Harrell presents his dance solo The Return of La Argentina in Prime Time, a performance series presented as part of Mx'd Messages, New York Live Arts' 2017 Live Ideas festival. In his solo, Harrell invites audiences to a fictional archiving of Butoh co-founder Kazuo Ohno's renowned solo Admiring La Argentina as directed by Butoh's other founder Tatsumi Hijikata and dedicated to the famed Spanish dancer Antonia Merce. The performance will be followed by a conversation with Harrell, Mx'd Messages festival curator Mx Justin Vivian Bond and Bill T. Jones.
