Sven Ratzke, the transgressive European Entertainer Extraordinaire, will return to Joe's Pub at the Public with a brand new show, Homme Fatale, for two performances only on October 25 at 9:30 PM and October 27 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are available HERE.

On the heels of last year's smash hit Starman, Homme Fatale features original songs by New York songbird Rachelle Garniez, Belgian underground pop star Dez Mona, Irish folkster Lisa Hannigan, and Grammy Award nominee Rufus Wainwright. Ratzke also offers original takes on hits by acclaimed homme fatals of pop like Lou Reed, David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Joy Division. The costumes are created by iconic French designer Thierry Mugler (who has dressed Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, David Bowie, and more).

Homme Fatale walks the line between pop and chanson - between the seducer and the prey - a rollercoaster through the fates of pimps, lovers, thieves, legends, angels and devils. Ratzke is a master storyteller, creating songs like dreamy little movies with fantastical banter that takes the audiences on a trip through a mystical night around the world, blending fact and fiction. Ratzke will be accompanied by his three-man band. The show will have a preview tour through Amsterdam and Berlin in September and October before debuting in New York.

Ratzke's previous New York evenings have been a "Critic's Pick" by Time Out New York.

SVEN RATZKE, a supernova of European cabaret, has toured the world with his concerts for almost 20 years, from the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Berliner Ensemble, to the Sydney Opera House and Lincoln Center. For the last two years, he has crossed the globe with his acclaimed show Starman, featuring the music of David Bowie. It won several prizes, including honors at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a Helpmann Award nomination, the Australian equivalent to the Tony Award.

Ratzke has worked with legendary performers like Nina Hagen, Fassbinder muse Hanna Schygulla, New York downtown darlings Joey Arias and Justin VivIan Bond, and Grammy Award-winning opera singer Claron McFadden, and performed with musical ensembles such as the Metropole Orkest, and The Asko|Schönberg orchestra. He portrayed the lead in the European production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, which was hailed by its creator John Cameron Mitchell as "the best Hedwig I've ever seen!"

This October, Ratzke will host his own musical variety show on National German TV, called "Ratzke's Rendezvous," where he interviews and performs with famous artists. Visit www.Sven-Ratzke.com for more.

Named for Public Theater founder Joe Papp, Joe's Pub at The Public opened in 1998 and plays a vital role in The Public's mission of supporting young artists while providing established artists with an intimate space to perform and develop new work. Joe's Pub consistently presents the best in live music and performance nightly, continuing its commitment to diversity, production values, community and artistic freedom. The organization also offers unique opportunities like New York Voices, an artist commissioning program that provides musicians the resources and tools needed to develop original theater works. Commissioned artists have included Ethan Lipton, Toshi Reagon, Bridget Everett, Allen Toussaint and more. In 2011, the Pub received a top-to-bottom renovation, leading to improved sightlines, expanded seating capacity and a new menu from acclaimed Chef Andrew Carmellini. With its intimate atmosphere and superior acoustics, Joe's Pub presents talent from all over the world as part of The Public's programming downtown at its Astor Place home, hosting approximately 800 shows and serving over 100,000 audience members annually.
