Due to popular demand and critical acclaim, Ars Nova extends the world premiere of Mrs. Murray's Menagerie to May 11. Directed by Lila Neugebauer, Mrs. Murray's Menagerie opened on kicks-off Ars Nova at Greenwich House and marks The Mad Ones' first production since their critically acclaimed play Miles For Mary. The production, created by The Mad Ones and Phillip James Brannon, Brad Heberlee, Carmen M. Herlihy and January LaVoy, opened on April 8.
Rattlestick Playwrights Theater has announced casting and other details for the World Premiere of Lockdown by Cori Thomas (Citizens Market, When January Feels Like Summer), directed by Kent Gash (Barbeque). This play, commissioned by Rattlestick with support from the Virginia P. The Old Vic today announces that Clarke Peters (The Wire, Five Guys Named Moe) will be joining the cast of Arthur Miller's The American Clock, directed by Rachel Chavkin, to play Robertson / Moe 3 / Taylor in the production until 2 March. He replaces Giles Terera who has had to withdraw from the production due to personal reasons. Sule Rimi (Sweat, Barber Shop Chronicles) takes over the roles from 4 to 30 March.
