ABC airs SHREK THE THIRD as the ABC FRIDAY MOVIE OF THE WEEK, today, NOVEMBER 25th.

MCC Theater has announced the complete cast for the newly reworked and fully re-imagined production of Carrie, the musical. Carrie features music by Michael Gore, lyrics by Dean Pitchford (Academy Award winning composer and lyricist for the original film Fame) and a book by Lawrence D. Cohen (who also adapted the 1974 novel by Stephen King for the 1976 Brian DePalma film). Directed by Stafford Arima, performances for Carrie begin January 31, 2012, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC). The official opening night is set for March 1, 2012.

So, today, we are going to be taking a look at a litany of the finest moments from Sondheim's post-SWEENEY TODD musicals that are highlighted in LOOK, I MADE A HAT and perhaps discover a few of the many reasons why Sondheim's musicals - whether late-period or early on- are the best of the best Broadway has to offer - now or ever. And, what an absolutely mind-blowing list it is - and what a masterpiece of a book!

The New York Times reports that Bernadette Peters and Martin Short are in talks with producers about co-starring as 'Agnes Snow' and 'Michael Snow' in a revival of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt's I DO I DO. Talks about the possible revival are in the earliest phases and no readings or workshops have been planned. The producers behind the revival are Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Promises, Promises, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, Smash), and Broadway Across America's John Gore and Beth Williams.

NEW YEAR'S EVE is coming to theaters on December 9th from Warner Brothers Pictures. The romantic comedy is directed by Garry Marshall and written by Katherine Fugate. Ordway Center for the Performing Arts announces the full cast and creative team for its holiday production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's 'Cinderella,' which features numerous Twin Cities theater favorites. Rehearsals for 'Cinderella' start November 17 and the production will run from December 13, 2011 to January 1, 2012 on the Ordway stage for a total of 23 performances.

The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) hosted the 2011 Princess Grace Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City and presented 21 Awards to emerging artists in theater, dance and film, as well as the Prince Rainier III Award which was presented to Julie Andrews and the Princess Grace Statue Award which was presented to Jon M. Chu, director of the highest grossing concert-themed film of all time in the U.S. Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Oscar©-nominated actress Anne Hathaway introduced the special tribute to Julie Andrews. The Gala took place in the presence of TSH The Prince and Princess of Monaco.
